Our story
Inspired by Taiwan, now in Hyderabad
CUPP started with three years in Taiwan and a love of its tea culture. Today we serve coffee, matcha and boba from 33 stores in 4 countries, and our home in India is Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
How we got here
From a van called Pearl
- 2009TaiwanLiving in Taiwan, our founders fell for its tea culture and trained at a small independent tea shop in Kaohsiung.
- 2012Pearl the vanCUPP launched in Bristol from Pearl, a converted Citroën H van, serving festivals before a residency at Cabot Circus.
- 2013The containerA 20ft shipping container became our first permanent home, and won a SCEPTRE Award that same year.
- On tourFestival seasonsGlastonbury, Wilderness and more, with a second container in tow. One spent a month stuck in a Glastonbury field.
- 2020Into LondonOur first London store opened in Whitechapel, the start of our growth across the capital and the rest of the UK.
- 2026HyderabadOur first store in India opened in March 2026 on Road No. 82, Jubilee Hills, with matcha, barista-style coffee and boba made fresh to order.
- Today33 stores, 4 countriesFrom Hyderabad to London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, and CUPP x Moomin cafés in Helsinki and Bergen. Next: more of India.
How we make it
Premium drinks start with premium ingredients
No flavour powders, no non-dairy creamer, no shortcuts. Every drink is made to order, and our drinks are less sweet by default.
